Hey MTPD! I Got This Blue Card On My Vehicle? What Do I Do?
WHAT ARE THESE BLUE "COURTESY NOTICES" MTPD?
The Manheim Township Police Department recently created Courtesy Notices which are to be used by officers and civilian police aides on patrol in the Township. These notices will be affixed to any vehicle which are not in compliance with state laws or local ordinances and will bring the concern to the attention of the vehicle owner. Common uses will be for expired registration plates, expired inspection stickers, or vehicles left sitting in an abandoned condition. These notices are not formal investigations performed by the police department and do not carry a fine or similar penalty; they simply serve as a friendly reminder to the vehicle owner to bring it into compliance. Any person receiving a blue Courtesy Notice can make contact with the issuing officer, whose name will be listed at the bottom, if they need clarification with what is required of them to bring their vehicle into compliance.
