At 8:02 a.m., on Tuesday, February 04, 2020, the Manheim Township Police Department was dispatched to Route 30 East near New Holland Pike for a traffic complaint.  Initial reports indicated that a dark-colored SUV was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane of Route 30.  The vehicle entered the highway in East Lampeter Township and traveled a significant distance in the wrong direction.  As officers were responding, additional calls came into the 9-1-1 center reporting several crashes between Walnut Street and Route 222.  Officers arrived on scene and determined that the wrong way driver eventually crashed head-on into another vehicle in Manheim Township.  At least two (2) people were taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.  The Manheim Township Police Department is actively working with the East Lampeter Township and Lancaster City Police Departments in order to determine the total number of crashes and vehicles involved.  As such, this incident remains under investigation and no further information is being released at this time.  Any person who witnessed this event should call the Manheim Township Police Department at 717-569-6401.
