Theft From Motor Vehicle is very much a crime of opportunity which can be easily prevented! Most criminals committing this offense simply walk around areas with parked cars and pull on door handles until an unlocked vehicle is found. Once found, they enter, rummage around the interior, and steal anything of value. Taking an extra second to ensure your vehicle is locked protects your property and saves you the hassle of replacing stolen items. There is also a public safety concern when weapons stored in vehicles are stolen, when they could have easily been secured in a better manner.
Please ensure your vehicle is locked when you leave it. Valuables and other important items, like firearms, should also be removed from the vehicle. Remember, if you Like It, you need to Lock It!
