Aggravated Assault / Endangering Welfare of Children / Recklessly Endangering Another Person / Institutional Vandalism / DUI Arrest, 9:56 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2020, Route 222 South at Mile Marker 33.2 (MT) - Tiffany Jacqueline Pagano, F/30, of Mount Joy, PA, was charged with the above offenses following a complaint of erratic driving.  It was reported to police that a dark-colored Honda Pilot was swerving and driving southbound on Route 222 on a wheel rim without a tire.  A Manheim Township Police Officer located the vehicle on Route 30 West in the area of Route 72, and attempted to pull the vehicle over.  The driver, later identified as Pagano, failed to yield to the officer's emergency lights and siren and proceeded north on Route 72.  The officer pursued the vehicle from Route 72 onto Granite Run Drive, where additional officers joined the low-speed pursuit.  Pagano continued to ignore all signals to stop and drove from Granite Run Drive, to Fruitville Pike, to Route 283 West, to Route 72, to Martin Drive in East Petersburg, to Brook Drive.  Once on Brook Drive, Pagano's vehicle crashed into the front yard of a residence in the 5200 block.  Four (4) Manheim Township Police Officers approached Pagano's vehicle in an attempt to effect an arrest.  Pagano drove out of the yard, while officers were attempting to physically remove her from the vehicle.  Pagano intentionally struck a marked police vehicle and nearly struck the four (4) officers while fleeing the scene.  One (1) officer continued to attempt to remove Pagano from the vehicle as she fled, holding onto both Pagano and the door to her vehicle.  Pagano drove approximately half a block before officers could stop the vehicle and take her into custody.

Officers searched Pagano's vehicle and located two (2) children, ages 5 and 10, inside.  Neither child was secured in a proper child-restraint system.  Pagano exhibited signs of impairment and had urinated her pants.  She was arrested and taken to the police station.  Chemical testing yielded a BAC of 0.165%.  She was processed and taken to Central Arraignment.

Pagano, the two (2) minor children, and the police officers sustained no injuries as a result of this incident.
