DUI-Highest Rate of Alcohol / DUI-General Impairment / Maximum Speed Limits / Limitations on Backing / Driving without a License Arrest, September 12 & 13, 2022, 1000 block of Lime St (MT) – Robert Emmet Walsh, M/44, was charged with the above offenses following a dispatch for a report of a crash. A witness reported that a vehicle backed into a parked vehicle and that the driver was causing a disturbance. The driver was identified as Robert Walsh by his expired driver’s license. Walsh had no recollection of striking another vehicle but his vehicle had a fresh coating of paint on the bumper that matched the scrape on the vehicle that was struck. Walsh admitted he had an unknown amount of alcoholic drinks. He was arrested. He was processed and released. When he was picked up at the police station, he was told not to pick up his vehicle tonight due to his impaired state. His keys were given to a 3rd party. A brief time later, Walsh’s vehicle was noticed on the highway. The vehicle was recognized from the previous DUI incident. The vehicle was swerving and accelerating rapidly. A traffic stop was initiated and found that it was, in fact, Walsh operating the vehicle. He had been taken back to his parked vehicle after he was released from police custody. Walsh consented to a chemical test of breath and was found to have a BAC of 0.172%
Walsh was arrested again and taken to Lancaster County Prison for arraignment.
