Firearms Carried Without License, Possession of Marijuana Arrest, 2:06 am, January 6, 2023, Sheetz at 1699 Oregon Pike (MT) – Jequan D. Turner, M/25, of Lancaster, PA was charged with the above offenses following a traffic stop for a vehicle speeding up and failing to activate the turn signal prior to or during lane changes. The driver drove into a parking stall at a Sheetz store. He exited the vehicle and closed the door. He was identified as Jequan Turner. Turner exhibited signs of agitation/irritation and admitted to such. The officer observed what was recognized as loose marijuana scattered throughout the passenger compartment of the vehicle. A slight odor of marijuana was smelled coming from inside the vehicle. Turner admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle and not having a Medical Marijuana card. He denied consent to search the vehicle. The vehicle was secured to apply for a search warrant, during which Turner admitted to having a gun in the vehicle. He admitted he did not have a license to carry a firearm and had previously been denied one. The search warrant for Turner’s vehicle was later granted. While searching Turner’s vehicle, a baggie containing suspected marijuana and a loaded handgun was found.
A criminal complaint was filed. Jequan Turner was arraigned before MDJ Miller and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
