Aggravated Assault on Police Officer / Criminal Mischief / Arson / Causing or Risking a Catastrophe / False Alarms to Agencies of Public Safety Arrest, 8:34 a.m., Sunday, October 18, 2020, 1450 Harrisburg Pike – Residence Inn (MT) – Kassandra M. Ojales, F/25, homeless, was charged with the above offense after officers were dispatched to the hotel for an active fire alarm. Upon arrival, officers determined that Ojales, a hotel guest on the fifth floor, had set a fire in her room, causing two (2) spots of burnt carpet, approximately 5 inches in diameter. The fire activated the building’s sprinkler system, which flooded Ojales’ room, the fifth floor, and all of the floors below. Ojales had also barricaded herself in her room and refused to allow hotel staff and emergency workers into her room. Entry was made into the room and Orjales was removed by police. She then pushed two (2) officers in an attempt to re-enter the room. While in police custody, Orjales called 9-1-1 and asked for police. She was processed and taken to Central Arraignment. The total loss in damages to the hotel is unknown at this time, but is anticipated to be in excess of $200,000.00.
