DUI-Highest Rate of Alcohol, DUI-General Impairment, Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed Arrest, 12:48 pm, December 9, 2022, 1500 block of New Holland Pk (MT) – John M. Buckwalter, M/33 of Leola, PA was charged with the above offenses following a dispatch to a reckless driver. The officer met with John Buckwalter, the sole occupant of the vehicle. The victim stated they stopped for traffic and Buckwalter failed to stop his vehicle before striking the rear of the victim’s vehicle. Buckwalter had an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and had slurred, slow and deliberate speech. An open bottle of Fireball brand whiskey was in plain view in Buckwalter’s vehicle. He was given the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests but it was stopped for his safety. Buckwalter provided a breath sample which indicated the presence of alcohol at a rate of 0.225% BAC.
A criminal complaint was filed. John M. Buckwalter was taken into custody and committed to Lancaster County Prison due to previous convictions.
