Update - South Locust Street Gas Leak

UPDATE: 06/12/2019 - 5:50 PM - South Locust Street Gas Leak
On 06/12/2019 around 4:48 PM, members of the Lititz Borough Police Department, Lititz Fire and Warwick EMS were dispatched to the 500 Block of South Locust Street (between East Sixth Street and Laurel Avenue) for a reported gas leak. An employee of a contracted company struck an underground natural gas line while doing excavating work in this block. The leak was immediately reported to 911 and UGI. Upon arrival of responders, the area was controlled and vehicular and pedestrian traffic were restricted in an abundance of caution. Lititz Fire and UGI immediately began to work collaboratively to control the leak, which occurred in a timely manner. The roadway was reopened after approximately one hour. There are no longer any gas or traffic issues in this area associated with this event.
