National Police Week

The LBPD would like to thank Stray Production Services for illuminating the front of the police station blue for Police Week.  We appreciate this great gesture of support!

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that day falls a Police Week.  National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

In 2019, National Police Week is Sunday, May 12 through Saturday, May 18.

The pictures of the police station in this release are courtesy of Donald Reese Photography, and depict the appearance of the station during the 2018 display.
