On Friday November 4th, 2016 at around 11:42pm, Officers from the LBPD responded to a vehicle accident in the 1st block of South Spruce Street. Officers investigated the incident and discovered that the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by Marcus CALDERON, 20, of Lititz struck three legally parked vehicles in the 1st block of South Spruce Street. Officers discovered that CALDERON was traveling north in the 100 block of South Spruce at approximately 68 mph. CALDERON failed to stop at the stop sign at West Orange Street and as he crossed West Orange Street his vehicle became airborne. CALDERON’s vehicle landed and struck the three parked vehicles. No one was injured in the accident but CALDERON’s vehicle and one of the parked vehicles were severely damaged and required towing.
Allen HEARN, 18, of Bethel, PA, who is the owner of the vehicle CALDERON was driving, was following CALDERON in a separate vehicle. HEARN also failed to stop for the stop sign at West Orange Street and damaged his vehicle at it crossed West Orange Street.
As a result of the investigation, Police cited CALDERON with the following offenses; Reckless Driving, Stop Signs and Yield Signs, and Unauthorized Transfer or Use of Registration Plates.
HEARN was cited for the following offenses; Stop Signs and Yield Signs, Registration Required and Required Financial Responsibility.
CALDERON and HEARN are presumed innocent.
