Woman dies after pedestrian crash

A Lititz woman struck by a vehicle Monday evening while walking her dog in Lititz died early Tuesday morning.

Karen D. Grover, 55, died after life-saving efforts, including CPR administered by emergency-responders at the scene and surgery at Lancaster General Hospital.

Grover was struck about 5:45 p.m. as she crossed the 400 block of Woodcrest Avenue. Edward T. Blazer, 83, of Myerstown, was driving the striking vehicle. The collision occurred in the southbound lane of Woodcrest Avenue, where the posted speed limit is 35 MPH.

An investigation by Lititz Borough police is ongoing. As of the time of this release, no charges have been filed.

Blazer stopped at the crash scene immediately and cooperated fully with police.

There will be no autopsy.

Grover’s dog sustained injuries and survived after treatment at an animal hospital.

Lititz Borough police Officer Ken Wolfe is lead investigator. Police are consulting with District Attorney Stedman’s office.
