The LBPD patrol function has filed a criminal complaint against Craig Russell LEWIS (age 42), of Lebanon, alleging the crimes of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (DUI), Accidents Involving Damage to Unattended Vehicle or Property and Restrictions on Alcoholic Beverages.
On 07/11/2019 at 10:23 PM, members of the LBPD were dispatched to a hit-and-run crash which occurred at the intersection of East Orange Street and Raspberry Lane. It was determined through the investigation that a light-colored Toyota struck a legally parked (unoccupied) vehicle and fled without stopping. On 07/11/2019 at 10:39 PM, an LBPD patrol officer discovered the same Toyota disabled in the travel lane in the 300 Block of East Main Street (SR0772). It was additionally discovered that the Toyota had struck two additional legally parked (unoccupied) vehicles in this block. The driver of the Toyota, Craig Russell LEWIS is alleged to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crashes. LEWIS was taken into custody and transported to the LBPD where he provided evidential samples of his breath, resulting in a 0.248% BrAC. LEWIS was subsequently released from custody and has been summoned to appear in DUI Central Court for preliminary arraignment and a preliminary hearing.
LEWIS is presumed innocent.
