On Sunday 30 September 2018 at approximately 1833 hrs. Officers from Lancaster Bureau of Police A & D Platoons responded to the area of Manor St. at Old Dorwart St. for a report of a shooting.
The first arriving Officer located a male who was walking toward the Police cruiser. The male, a 24 year old resident of Lancaster City, was holding a tee shirt to his neck and was bleeding from a gun shot wound to his neck.
As other Officers arrived in the area and began to establish crime scene protocols, the decision was made by Officers on the scene to transport the victim to the hospital by Police vehicle. One Officer drove and another was in the back seat with the victim to make sure that pressure was applied to the wound. When they arrived at the hospital the victim was taken into a trauma bay for treatment and eventually for surgery. The last information received was that the victim is recovering from surgery in critical but stable condition.
Officers at the scene attempted to locate suspect information, witnesses and physical evidence. Initial indications are that the shooting occurred on the 1st blk. Old Dorwart St. Officers had located a single shell casing in that area. Officers also located a trail of blood that led them from Old Dorwart St. to the location where the first Officer encountered the victim.
