Stabbing investigation (Homicide) - 900 block of Fremont Street

On June 12, 2019, at approximately 9:14 PM, officers from the Lancaster City Bureau of Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Fremont Street for a fight in progress.   When the first officers arrived on the scene, they found a 16 year-old male victim suffering from an apparent stab wound to the torso.   There was also a crowd of people at the scene when the officers arrived.   The victim was transported to a local hospital by EMS, where he is being treated for serious injuries.   The victim is currently in critical condition.   

Investigators are currently interviewing witnesses and processing the crime scene for evidence.   Although the investigation is in the early stages, investigators have learned that there was a physical altercation between two groups of people and that during this altercation, the victim was stabbed and injured.   Investigators are working to identify all of the participants in the altercation, so they can be interviewed.

The victim of this stabbing has died as a result of his injuries.   The victim's identity is being withheld at this time.   The investigation into this incident is on-going and continues.
