Shooting investigation - 300 block S. Marshall Street

On October 27, 2017, at approx. 3:18 AM, officers from the Lancaster City Bureau of Police were dispatched to the 300 block of S. Marshall Street for a shooting. The officers arrived at the scene and found a male victim, with a gunshot wound to the torso. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and is in critical condition at this time. The victim is a 31 year-old Lancaster man.
Officers immediately secured the crime scene and began speaking with neighbors and potential witnesses. Detectives were contacted and are currently investigating the incident. The crime scene is being processed for evidence and investigators are attempting to locate witnesses to the incident.

UPDATE TO PREVIOUSLY RELEASED INFORMATION
At approx. 8:00 AM this morning, the 31 year-old male victim was pronounced dead at the hospital. His identity is being withheld at this point, while family are being notified. The investigation is on-going and continues.
UPDATE - VICTIM IDENTIFIED
The victim of today's homicide has been identified as William Earl Cooper Jr. He was 31 years old and was a Lancaster City resident.
