Shooting 700 blk. S. Lime St. Monday 5/13/19

On Monday May 13, 2019 at approximately 2300 hrs. Officers from Lancaster Bureau of Police, Platoon B, responded to a residence on the 700 blk. S. Lime St. for a reported shooting that had just occurred. While en-route, Officers were told that the person that had fired the gun was outside the building on the sidewalk.

Upon arrival, Officers made contact with an adult male that had laid down on the sidewalk and put his arms out to his sides. That male had placed a handgun on the ground in view of Officers but away from his person. The firearm was secured and the male was checked for any additional weapons. That male was later transported to the Police station to speak with investigators.

Other Officers checked inside the residence and found a 22 year old male with a gun shot wound to his upper arm. That male was transported to the hospital for treatment. His injuries do not appear to be life threatening. The male is in stable condition at the hospital.

The scene on S. Lime St. was secured. Officers and Detectives spoke with potential witnesses and canvassed the area for evidence.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation. Detectives have been in consultation with the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office.
