FIRST ST AND WEST END AVE

OCCURRED 5/12/2017 BETWEEN 0200 HRS AND 1000 HRS

An unknown suspect entered the vehicle and stole a laptop and a set of key from the center console.  The vehicle was parked at the listed location and locked at the time of the incident.   An unknown  suspect entered the listed location and stole US Currency the safe.  The suspect appeared to be approximately 5'2"-5'4" in height and was wearing a hooded sweatshirt.

OCURRED 5/12/2017 1209 HRS

Jose R Rodriguez-Cartagena, 39 of the 3800 Block Columbia Avenue, Mountville PA was the subject of a Hit and Run.  Rodriguez-Cartagena refused to stop and threw items from the vehicle while he was driving.  Once stopped, he refused to follow direction from the officer and was found to be under the influence.  Rodriguez- Cartagena was arrested and charged with DUI, Accident to Unattended Vehicle, Careless Driving, Occupational Limited License and Scattering Rubbish.

RETAIL THEFT / RITE AID

825 E CHESTNUT ST

OCCURRED 5/12/2017 BETWEEN 1615 HRS AND 1617 HRS

On the above listed date between the listed times a white, female subject was observed (Via CCTV), as well as through physical visual, taking items from the shelf, and concealing them in her white purse that she had come into the store with then exiting the store passing all points of sale without paying for the items.

1700 FRUITVILLE PIKE

OCCURRED 5/13/2017 0645 HRS

Sherman Clay Geiter III, 45, of the first block of Donnerville Rd, Mountville PA was observed by store security selecting a Ridged brand spade handle drill, removing it from the box and concealed it in his coat.  Geiter then passed all points of sale without offering any payment.  Geiter was arrested and charged with Retail Theft.

BURGLARY / ST JOSEPH CHURCH

438 ST JOSEPH ST

OCCURRED 5/14/2017 1855 HRS

On the above listed date and time and unknown Black male approximately 6’1” was observed attempting to break into the Church building by removing panes of glass from the rectangular window.  The suspect fled when a witness attempted to stop him.  No further description was available.

BURGLARY/ ANNUNCIATION ORTHODOX CHURCH

64 HERSHEY AVE.

OCCURRED 5/14/2017 1910 HRS.

Officers responded to the area of the 1st blk. Hershey Ave. for a report of an burglary in-progress at the Greek Orthodox Church. An uknown B/M broke a window and entered the church. The suspect fled the scene prior to Officer's arrival. The suspect description was similar to the suspect from the attempted burglary at St. Joseph's Church. Anyone with information on either incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Det. AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

1ST BLK. CHESAPEAKE ST. 

OCCURRED 5/13/2017 1801 HRS.

Officers responded for an assault that had just occurred. The victim was found outside of a residence and had head injuries from an assault. Through the investigation, the suspect was identified as Luis Mantilla M/26 500 blk. Woodward St. Lancaster, PA. Mantilla was known to the suspect. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. Mantilla had fled teh scene prior to Police arrival. A warrant was obtained for his arrest. On Sunday 5/14/2017 Off. Herr spotted Mantilla driving a vehicle on N. Prince St. He was taken into custody on the warrant. He was later arraigned on the charge of Aggravated Assault and committed to LCP in lieu of $100,000 bail.

ROBBERY

100 BLK OLD DORWART ST

OCCURRED 5/14/2017 2341 HRS

While walking home from Gas Mart a White male, 31 years of age was approached by two males suspect who demanded he empty his pockets.  The victim stated that the suspects had what appeared to be a gun .  The suspects then began searching the victim’s pocked and taking the victim’s  wallet removing the cash from it.  The victim fled tripping and falling down and observed the suspects fleeing north in the 100 block of Old Dorwart Street towards King Street.
