On Saturday January 9, 2021 at approximately 2057 hrs. Officers from Lancaster Bureau of Police, Platoon B, responded to the area of Garden Court Apartments for a report of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, Officers were told that the person that had been stabbed had left the area in a private vehicle. While Officers were assessing the scene at Garden Court they were informed that a 26 year old male with stab wounds had just arrived at LGH. Additional Officers went to the hospital to continue the investigation.
The initial information gathered at the scene was that a 30 year old male was driving in the SE area of Lancaster City when he noticed that his ex-wife’s current boyfriend was following him in a vehicle. The driver (Driver 1) attempted to elude his pursuer (Driver 2) but was unable to do so.
Driver 1 stopped in a parking at Garden Court apartments. Driver 1 stated that Driver 2 approached his vehicle on foot and was accompanied by several other people. Driver 1 stated that Driver 2 opened the vehicle door and began to assault him with his hands and fists. Driver 1 stated that he attempted to stop Driver 2’s assault by grabbing him but was unable to do so.
Driver 1 was able to grab a knife that was inside his vehicle. Driver 1 stabbed Driver 2 several times, ending Driver 2’s assault.
Driver 2 was admitted to the hospital and underwent surgery for his injuries. At last update Driver 2 was in stable condition.
As of the time of this press release no charges have been filed. The investigation into this incident continues as Detectives conduct follow up interviews and consultation with the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.
