On Tuesday January 12, 2021 at approximately 2022 hrs. Officers from Lancaster Bureau of Police, Platoon A, responded to the 600 blk. St. Joseph St. for reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, Officers discovered that at least (2) homes on the block had been struck by gunfire. An adult female had been in a 2nd floor bedroom of one of the homes when a bullet fired by suspect(s) entered a window, ricocheted off a piece of furniture and grazed her arm. The injury sustained by the victim was superficial and she declined medical attention.
Officers were unable to make contact at the other home struck by gunfire and had to force entry in order to make sure that no one inside was injured as a result of the gunfire. No one was located inside the second home.
Officers checked the area and located several spent shell casings on the sidewalk across the street from the homes that had been struck. Officers and Detectives spoke with callers to 911 as well as neighbors in the immediate area. They also checked the area for additional victims, damage, suspect information and well as video surveillance locations.
