Officers and Detectives are in the area of the 600 blk. E. Chestnut St. for a reported shooting.


An adult male was found on the sidewalk on 600 blk E. Chestnut St. The male had a gunshot wound to his torso. He was transported to the hospital by EMS. His condition is unknown as of the time of this release.


Officers and Detectives are canvassing the area for witnesses, evidence and potential video. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lancaster Bureau of Police at 717-735-3301.

Through the course of the investigation, it was found that the shooting occurred on the 700 blk. E. Fulton St. The victim, a 28 year old male resident of Lancaster City, ran west from the shooting scene until he was found on the sidewalk on 600 blk. E. Chestnut St. The male suffered a single gunshot wound to the torso. 

Preliminary suspect information was provided as (2) unknown dark skinned males. The males were last seen running east from E. Fulton St. toward N. Reservoir St. No additional suspect information is available at this time. 

As of the time of this release, the scene is still being canvassed and processed by Evidence Specialists, Detectives and Officers. Traffic in the area of E. Chestnut St., 200 blk. N. Franklin St. and 700 blk. E. Fulton St. will still be effected by lane closures and crime scene perimeters. 

As of the time of this release, the victim is in stable, but critical condition, at the hospital. He received life-saving surgery by the Trauma Staff at LGH/ Penn Medicine.
