On Monday July 6, 2020 at approximately 2106 hrs. Officers from Lancaster Bureau of Police, Platoon B, received calls of shots fired. Multiple calls were received and the locations were given as possibly the 500 blk. W. King St. and that immediate vicinity.
One of the first arriving pair of Officers located a victim near the 500 blk. Lake St. at Coral St. The victim is a 17 year old female resident of Lancaster City. The victim had a single gun shot wound to her leg. Officers provided first aid to the victim until EMS arrived to transport her to the hospital for further treatment. The victim is expected to survive her injury.
Officers were alerted to the location of a 2nd victim on the 1st blk. Ruby St. The 2nd victim is a 19 year old male resident of Lancaster City. That victim had a graze wound from a bullet on his lower leg. The 2nd victim was also transported to the hospital for treatment and is expected to survive his injury.
Officers canvassed the area for additional victims, suspect information, evidence, witnesses and surveillance video locations. Spent shell casings were located in the area. Those items were collected as evidence.
Officers and Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident as well as any factors that led up to the shooting.
