On Wednesday 18 April 2018 at approximately 1253 hrs. Officers from Platoon D responded to the area of the Turkey Hill store, 460 S. Duke St., for a report of a male with a gun shot wound at that location .
Upon arrival, Officers located a 26 year old male resident of Lancaster City. The male had been shot, one time, in his leg.
Officers determined that the incident occurred on the 500 blk. Chester St. and that the victim made his way to S. Duke St. after he had been shot. Shell casings were found on the ground on the 500 blk. Chester St.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His injury does not appear to be life threatening. Detectives responded to the hospital to follow up with the victim. It appears that there was some type of confrontion between the victim and another unidentified male prior to the shooting. This does not appear to be a random act of violence.
Officers canvassed the scene for additional evidence, witnesses and potential video recordings.
As of the time of this release, no suspect has been identified and no arrests have been made. This case is still under investigation.
