On Thursday 30 November 2017 at approximately 0217 hrs., Officers from Platoon A responded to a residence on the 200 blk. S. Ann St. for a report of a disturbance in progress. A caller to 911 told dispatchers that the incident might be a burglary and that a gun shot was heard.
Officers arrived and were directed to an apartment on the 3rd floor of the residence. They met with the victims. Officers were told that (2) unknown males forced entry into the apartment by way of kicking in the rear door. The males wore masks over their faces and displayed handguns. The suspects demanded loot from the victim. The suspects grabbed a plastic box and fled the residence.
The victim stated that after he checked on his daughter he ran to the door where the suspects exited. The victim heard at least one gun shot fired from the area behind the building. It is unknown if the shot was fired by either suspect. No damage was found by the gunshot and no injuries were reported as a result of the robbery.
