On Thursday 23 February 2017 at 2240 hrs. Officers from A Platoon responded to the area of the Gas Mart, 653 Columbia Ave., for a report of a car-jacking/robbery that had just occurred.
Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the victim, a 39 year-old Mountville resident. The victim stated that he had been parked at the intersection of Coral St. and Third St. The victim had been waiting to meet a female friend.
While waiting, the suspect entered the victim’s vehicle from the passenger door. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s vehicle. The suspect threatened to harm the victim if he did not surrender his vehicle.
The victim got out of his vehicle and the suspect drove away in the vehicle. The victim’s cell phone was in the vehicle. The victim walked to the Gas Mart to call and wait for Police. The victim was not injured as a result of this incident.
The victim stated that the female friend he had been waiting to meet and the suspect are known to each other as she had had mentioned the nickname during a prior meeting.
The suspect was described as a Black Male, 20’s, medium build last seen wearing a puffy black jacket and blue jeans.
The victim’s vehicle is a 2015 Chrysler 200 black in color sedan, PA registration KGT7214. Det. Will Smith of the Auto Theft Unit has been assigned the case.
