*****ORIGINAL INFORMATION RELEASED 02 MARCH 2018*****
On Thursday 01 March 2018 at approximately 1941 hrs. a robbery was reported at the Strawberry Grocery store, 100 W. Strawberry St. Off. Work responded to the scene and spoke with the victim.
The victim related that an unknown male entered the store. The male wore a mask and dark colored hooded sweatshirt. The male pulled out a handgun and demanded cash. The suspect fled the store when it became evident that the victim was not alone inside the store. The suspect had last been seen westbound on the 400 blk. High St. Additional information was provided that the suspect might be in the company of 2 additional unknown males.
Officers from Platoon B canvassed the area. They located (3) males walking on the 700 blk. High St. One of the suspects matched the physical and clothing description of the robbery suspect. A further check of the immediate area where the suspects had been stopped revealed a black Taurus semi-automatic pistol had been stashed on top the tire of a parked/unoccupied vehicle. A check of the firearm serial number showed that it had been reported stolen to Lititz Borough Police.
All 3 males were transported to the station for questioning. 2 adult males were later released with no charges filed at this time.
A 17 year old male from Lancaster City has been charged as a juvenile in relation to the robbery. Off. Work filed an allegation & affidavit before Lancaster County Juvenile Probation charging the male with Robbery, Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of a Firearm by Minor. Detention was authorized and the juvenile was transported to the Youth Intervention Center (YIC).
*****NEW INFORMATION 03 MARCH 2018*****
Through further investigation by Det. Lt. Stoltzfus and Det. Stan Roache, it was discovered that the suspect from the robbery at 100 W. Strawberry St. (Strawberry Grocery) was responsible for an additional (7) robberies in Lancaster City, dating back to 06 January 2018.
Det. Roache consulted with the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office and received permission to direct file a Criminal Complaint against the suspect and charge him as an adult. The complaint was filed before MDJ Witkonis. The juvenile allegation will be withdrawn.
The suspect is identified as Rayvonne Perez-Acosta M/17 600 blk. N. Plum St. Lancaster, PA.
Perez-Acosta has been charged in connection with the following armed robberies:

29 January 2018 2339 hrs. Mangat Mini Mart 629 W. Orange St, Lancaster, PA
15 February 2018 2030 hrs O&J Grocery 121 E. Walnut St. Lancaster, PA
15 February 2018 2127 hrs. U.S Gas Mart 401 N. Lime St. Lancaster, PA
01 March 2018 1941 hrs. Strawberry Grocery 100 W. Strawberry St. Lancaster, PA
A job well done by members of Platoon B in locating and apprehending Perez-Acosta as well as members of CID for the follow up investigation that connected Perez-Acosta to those robberies and removed an armed, serial offender from the streets of Lancaster City.
Perez-Acosta was held for arraignment and committed to LCP in lieu of $150,000 bail.
All persons accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
