On Tuesday 23 May 2017 at approximately 1034 hrs. Officer from Platoon D responded to the area of S. Marshall St. and E. Mifflin St. for a report of shots fired. Officers checked the area and found spent shell casings near the intersection of E. Mifflin St. and Stevens Ave. Officers also met with the reporting person/victim on the 500 blk. E. King St. The initial report was that an unknown B/M fired several gunshots toward the victim. The suspect was last seen walking toward S. Franklin St.
Information provided to Officers on the scene was that the suspect was seen entering an apartment building on the 1st blk. S. Franklin St. Officers and Detectives made contact with residents inside the building. Eventually a door-to-door check was conducted. The suspect was not located at that location.
Through the investigation, Detectives were told that prior to the shots fired, a verbal dispute had occurerred in a corner store at S. Marshall St. and East End Ave. between the victim and suspect. When the suspect walked east on E. Mifflin St. he removed a handgun from a backpack and fired 4 shots at the victim. The victim was not hit by gunfire. There were no reported injuries as a result of the gunfire.
Det. Donald Morant was able to identify the suspect as Quindon Maurice Hill M/19. A criminal compain was filed against Hill charging him with (1) Count Firearms Not To Be Carried Without a Licencse and (2) Counts Persons Not to Possess (etc.) Firearms. A warrant was issued for the arrest of Hill.
*****UPDATED INFORMATION 24 JULY 2017 *****
On Sunday 23 July 2017 at approximately 1915 hrs. Quindon Hill surrendered himself at the lobby of the Lancaster City Bureau of Police. He was arrested on the warrant that had been issued in June 2017. Hill also had an additional Criminal Complaint filed against him by Det. Will Smith, charging Hill with (1) count Receiving Stolen Property (F3). That was in relation to a stolen vehicle investigation that was not related to the shots fired incident on E. Mifflin St.
Hill was held for arraignment on both Criminal Complaints. Hill was committed to LCP in lieu of $100,000 bail for the Firearms incident and $50,000 for the Receving Stolen Property incident.
All persons accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
