Ephrata Police arrested three suspects; a female and two brothers, following an all night manhunt stemming from a theft incident in the late evening hours of 5-28-15 at the Weis Markets in the 300 Block of North Reading Road, Ephrata.
Ephrata Police were called to the Weis Markets around 10pm on 5-28-15 by a female who reported a male and female approached her and asked for money. The victim refused at which the male reached around her, grabbed her pocketbook from her vehicle trunk and both the male and female jumped into a vehicle driven by a second male. The vehicle fled the area. Police acting on the victim and witness information spotted the suspect vehicle at State and Main Streets where it was eventually stopped in the 300 Block of East Main Street (US322). Ephrata Police were able to apprehend the driver, William Snow and the female, Amanda Deckert while the second male fled on foot from the vehicle and police.
Ephrata Police with the assistance of Lancaster City Police K-9 unit conducted a search of the area but were not able to locate the fleeing suspect, later determined to be Keith Snow brother to William. Police continued their search throughout the night as well as received citizen tips of possible sightings in the near-by neighborhoods.
At approximately 0530hrs Keith Snow was observed approximately one mile from the initial stop and was captured after a short foot chase in a wooded area in the 100 Block of Akron Road.
The victim's pocketbook was recovered from the street at State and Main Streets.
Ephrata Police charged Keith Andrew Snow, 29, of Conestoga, William Scott Snow, 31, of New Providence and Amanda Sue Deckert, 31, of Lancaster with Misdemeanor Theft. The theft charges violated probation conditions of all three. All Three were taken to Lancaster County Central Arraignment for a formal arraignment on the charge.
