Ephrata Police arrested a male and female following an investigation into a retail theft incident reported around 11am on 05-07-18.    

Owner of a retail business located in the first block of New Street, Ephrata Borough reported several individuals in the store in the process of taking and concealing numerous items.   Upon police arrival the persons involved were exiting the store.   Scott Stubbe M/29 last know address of Lancaster, PA. and Maranda L. Kachel 24/F from Pine St., Ephrata, were stopped by police and found to have items on their person from the store and failed to pay for the items.    

Maranda Kachel was arrested for Retail Theft and released on her own.    Stubbe is also being charged with Retail Theft as a result of the incident which will be filed before local magistrate.   Stubbe was turned over to the Lancaster County Sheriff's Dept after police discovered an outstanding Lancaster County Sheriff's warrant had been issued for Stubbe.
