Ephrata Police responded on 2-13-18 at approximately 3:10pm for a vehicle accident in the 500 block of East Main St (US 322) involving two vehicles with one vehicle rolled over onto its roof.
Ephrata Police determined that a Honda sedan driven by Prudencio Aviles Jr 42/M, from Cotton St, Reading was east bound in the 500 Block of East Main St and when, for unknown reasons, (according to several witnesses) he drifted toward the right where he stuck an unoccupied parked vehicle in front of 553 East Main St. owned by Lori Flowers of Ephrata. The impact caused Aviles' Honda sedan to flip upside down where it landed on its roof in the middle of the east bound lane. Aviles and a rear seat passenger (also from Reading area) escaped injuries. However Aviles wife (front seat passenger) sustained moderate injuries and was taken by Ephrata Ambulance to Wellspan Ephrata Hospital for treatment. Both vehicles sustained major damage and were towed from the scene. Aviles to be cited for traffic violation.
US 322 was shut for approximately 45minutes and Ephrata Police were assisted on scene by Ephrata Pioneer Fire Company and Fire Police.
