On January 30, 2018 at 4:12 a.m., Ephrata Police were dispatched to the Ephrata Review Building at 1 East Main Street, Ephrata Borough for a 911 hang-up call. Police arrived and found a glass door on the west side of the building smashed. Police entered the building and found Brendan Alan Weaver, 28, of Ephrata, in a hallway of the building. Weaver was naked and clearly under the influence of a controlled substance.
The office area of the building was ransacked. Damage is estimated in excess of $5,000. Police suspect that Weaver accidentally called 911 from an office phone when he was ransacking the building.
Weaver is currently in police custody. He will be charged with burglary and arraigned later today.
