Following an investigation that was initiated on August 2, 2016, the Ephrata Police Department has issued two citations to Marvin M. Sensenig, 20, of Ephrata charging him with two counts of Cruelty to Animals. It is alleged that the defendant unreasonably struck a horse that was overburdened with a heavy load. The horse expired shortly thereafter.
This prosecution has been reviewed the by the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office, and is the fullest extent available by Pennsylvania Law. The applicable law is under the Pennsylvania Crimes Code (Title 18) Section 5511c. Statute here.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
