On April 21, 2016 at 1017 a.m., an Ephrata Police officer, who was at the Walmart parking lot to investigate a minor vehicle accident, observed Luke Allen Jackson, 23, homeless, leaving Walmart with two chain saws and a leaf blower. Upon seeing the officer, Jackson became visibly nervous. Jackson was unable to hide his nervous reaction to encountering a police officer after he just walked out of Walmart without paying for $460 worth of merchandise. Jackson admitted to the theft and was charged with retail theft. Jackson failed to post bail and is currently incarcerated in Lancaster County Prison.
