Ephrata Police responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of Swamp Bridge and Penny's Hill Roads in West Cocalico Township Thursday 1-11-18 at approximately 9:35pm. Police found a white Doge Caravan failed to negotiate a curve on Swamp Bridge Road. The Dodge drove off the right shoulder, down a grass embankment knocking over two pine trees and struck a truck in the driveway of a home on Penny's Hill Road. After striking the truck the Dodge Caravan spun around and slammed into a large metal dumpster sitting on the homeowner's property.
The driver Jonathan Hunt 37/M of Ridge Rd, Reinholds, PA sustained minor injury. Hunt's vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. The homeowner sustained property damage to his yard and trees as well as moderate damage to his truck which was parked in the driveway of the home.
Hunt was arrested on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and his BAC was: .20% more than twice the legal limit. Hunt to receive a criminal summons in the mail for Driving Under the Influence.
