Chief's Message

Welcome to the official home of the Elizabethtown Police Department.  This will be your best place to find information about the activities, policies, and information regarding public safety in and around our Borough.

The men and women of the Elizabethtown Police Department work 24 hours a day to provide the highest level of service to all of the residents and visitors to our great town.  We provide full service public safety services, including vehicle patrol, bicycle patrol and foot patrols of our parks, business districts and residential neighborhoods.  As a truly community-focused police department, we strive daily to find new and better ways to connect with our residents and visitors, and we always strive to improve our relationship with the community.

We participate in many community events such as Coffee With A Cop, Cones With Cops, and National Night Out, and we are always working to partner with local businesses and community groups to participate in as much as we can.

Our officers receive the highest level of training available on subjects such as the responsible use of physical force, crisis intervention and de-escalation, community policing, officer safety, leadership, and investigations-related topics.  The officers are also encouraged to search for and attend outside training in areas that interest them, and to then bring that information back to share with the rest of the department.

Again, thank you for visiting our website.  We ask that you use the information that you find here responsibly, and that you engage with us as frequently as possible.  We are all stronger together!  Finally, please feel free to contact me at the office to discuss ways that the EPD can become part of your neighborhood, or to discuss any other public safety questions that you may have.

Take care,

Ed Cunningham, Chief of Police
