On 6/3/15 a group of males approached a resident in the 100 block of Brandt Blvd. They offered to repair the driveway. The group identified themselves as the "Harrisburg Pike Paving Crew", in light of roadwork being done at the time on Harrisburg Pk. The resident did not approve of work being done and the males left. A short time later, one of the males approached the resident again and informed them that there was a crack at the end of the driveway so they "sealed" it for them. The male requested payment for the work that he completed. The resident felt intimidated and threatened by the male and eventually paid him for his alleged services. The resident attempted to "stop" payment on the check quickly; however the male had already cashed the check at a local bank. After a thorough nvestigation it was determined that the "sealing" of the driveway would have cost $200.00 not the $5,000.00 the suspect received. Furthermore, no such business exists in PA or were they registered in the state. Mr. French is alleged to have cashed the check in question, providing valid identification.
Further information revealed that Mr. French is suspected of similar misrepresentations in Tennessee.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts’ of Mr. French is asked to submit a tip via Crimewatch.
