West Hempfield Township Police Investigating 3 Deaths at 2 Locations

West Hempfield Township police, with assistance from the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office, are investigating two incidents that involved fatalities.

Both of the investigations are in early stages and ongoing, so information contained in this release is very preliminary. More information will be release at a later time.

Three men are deceased.

Just after 1 p.m. Wednesday, West Hempfield Township police responded to a residence in the 600 block of Hempfield Hill Road for a check on well-being.

Police found two men deceased at the residence. One man had an apparent gunshot wound. The investigation into the other man's death is ongoing.

The two men were father and son. They had apparently been deceased for a period of time, possibly days.

Just before 1:30 p.m., police responded to a reported shooting in the 300 block of Main Street, Mountville.

Police determined four individuals - two women and two men - were at the home when the shootings happened.

One man sustained a gunshot wound and is deceased. Another man is at a hospital with a gunshot wound to a leg.

A woman at the home was assaulted and hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

A female relative of that woman was uninjured.

A domestic dispute is being investigated in regards to what prompted the shootings.

As of Thursday morning, it is believed neither incident involved random acts. The incidents are not related to one another, but the individuals involved in each are known to each other.

Autopsies will be performed later in the week. More information is expected to be released after the autopsies.
