IMPACT OF TROPICAL STORM IDA ON COLUMBIA BOROUGH

Tropical Storm Ida is on its way to this area.  Current forecasts predict heavy rains with some localized flooding.  Minor flooding is expected for the Susquehanna River.  However, there is a high chance for flooding of small streams and stormwater inlets.  With these storms, there is always a possibility of widespread power outages and/or downed trees.

The following schedule changes are in effect for Columbia Borough:

1.  Street sweeping in Columbia Borough will be suspended for Wednesday, September 1, 2021 and Thursday, September 2, 2021, and at this point, are scheduled to resume on Friday, September 3, 2021.

2.  The Columbia River Park and Columbia Crossing Building will be closed beginning at 12:00pm on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 and will reopen once it is safe to do so.
