FRAUD PROTECTION TECHNIQUES: 

1.  Keep your credit/debit cards in a physically secure place.  Make sure they are kept in a place where you will notice immediately if one of them goes missing.

2.  Avoid keeping pictures of your cards on your phone and avoid recording your credit card information in notes on your phone.

3.  Try to get in the habit of shredding any documents that contain your credit card information, including documents that include the last 4 digits of your card.

4.  Don't provide your credit card information to anyone over the phone.

5.  Before swiping your card anywhere, check for card skimmers.  Look for anything on the credit card reader that seems to be loose, crooked, or out of place.

6.  Check your statements on at least a monthly basis for transactions you did not create.

7.  Turn on "Transaction Alerts" for your credit cards.  Each time someone, including yourself, make a transaction you will receive a notification on your phone.

HOW TO REPORT CREDIT CARD FRAUD:

• Contact your credit card issuer immediately upon noticing suspicious transactions
• Place a credit freeze with Equifax (1-800-349-9960), Experian (1-888-397-3742) and TransUnion (1-888-909-8872).
• Report fraud to your local police.
