Many people are receiving phone calls asking them to purchase gift cards and to relay the information on the gift card to someone over the phone.  THESE CALLS ARE NEVER LEGITIMATE!  The callers give many different scenarios as to why they need you to purchase gift cards (type of gift card varies as well).  The caller may attempt to confuse you or play on your generosity, loneliness, age, etc. They may pretend to be a family member needing help or someone from another country who needs something like medicine or airfare.  AGAIN, NEVER BUY GIFT CARDS AND RELAY THE INFORMATION ON THE CARDS TO SOMEONE VIA TELEPHONE.
