2019 Year in Review

Below are some of the statistics for the Columbia Borough Police Department for 2019.

  • The Columbia Borough Police Department handled 14,033 (14,127 in 2018) calls through Lancaster County Wide Communications. Columbia Borough Police Department continues to rank as the 7th busiest police department of the numerous agencies dispatched by Lancaster County Wide Communications.
  • Out of the top 20 most dispatched patrol units in Lancaster County, Columbia Borough had two units in this group. They were ranked 11th and 16th.
  • There were 2,102 calls directly into the Columbia Borough Police Station during the hours a civilian service aide (CSA) was on duty.
  • Approx. 10,421 parking tickets issued
  • Approx. 699 traffic citations issued or filed
  • Approx. 138 non0traffic citations issued or filed
  • Approx. 237 criminal complaints completed (this number does not reflect PFA complaints that were filed or juvenile allegations that were completed)
  • Approx. 208 vehicle accidents handled

Officer from the Columbia Borough Police Department assisted with many public safety and awareness events, volunteered in town, read books to numerous children in the schools as well as at the library, assisted with the Marine Cops League Toys for Tots program, shop with a cop program and participated in several other events in and out of town.
