On Thursday, October 20, 2022 at approximately 10:00 am, the Columbia Police Department was notified by security staff at Lancaster General Hospital (LGH) that a male victim was brought to their facility with a gunshot wound. Prior to receiving medical treatment, the male victim told security staff that earlier that morning (approximately 9:15-9:30 am) he was shot by an unknown male somewhere on Bethel Street in Columbia. No other information was provided. A Columbia Police detective responded to LGH but was unable to speak with the victim due to the victim receiving medical treatment.  

To this point, no other information has been provided by the shooting victim. In addition, the shooting location has not been confirmed.
