On 10/5/21 at approximately 8:34pm the Columbia Borough Police Department was dispatched to the 200 block of N. 2nd Street for a report of an attempted burglary.  Upon arrival the Officer spoke with the caller who stated that he had been on the second floor of the residence when he heard a noise downstairs.  He first assumed it was his girlfriend arriving home but when he called and she did not answer he decided to go downstairs.  When he arrived downstairs he noticed that the front door was open and that items that were not previously on the floor were now laying on the floor inside the front door as if someone attempted to take them but dropped them when he arrived downstairs.  Anyone with information regarding this attempted burglary is encouraged to contact the Columbia Borough Police Department at 717-684-7735 or by texting LANCS to 847411.
