On 3/23/19 at approximately 10:08 pm the Columbia Borough Police Department was dispatched to the 100 Block of Locust Street for a report of trespassing in progress. Upon arrival the officer saw a male, known to him as Gavin Monroe Meigs, 20, of Columbia. He asked Meigs if he had any drugs on him and he admitted to having a syringe in his pocket. Meigs was arrested and transported to the Columbia Borough Police Department where he was found to have a glassine pack which was suspected to contain heroin. Meigs was processed and released. He was advised that charges for possession of drug paraphernalia would be filed. Meigs is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
